Investment Operations Analyst

Our client, a well established technology focused hedge fund is looking an Investment Operation Analyst to expand the team. Candidate with experience and knowledge of equity, fixed income, OTC trade of APAC market with is highly prefered. A great opportunity to be the core player in the team.

Responsibilities

• Manage unconfirmed Equity and Fixed Income trades
• Investigate and, where possible clear all nostro breaks in Securities transactions
• Monitor OTC trades and work with trading and counterparts to resolve any issues
• Improve STP rates with brokers by addressing ongoing issues
• Trade amendments, event processing, and reference data maintenance to ensure accurate representation of positions, P&L, and exposures in the risk management systems
• Act as a central point of contact for all broker queries
• Ensure all functions performed by the Equity, Bond team are in-line with company's growth or contraction
• Main point of contact for Equity and Bond confirmations across APAC region
• To continually review and improve the working practices/processes of the team. Where possible automate the end-to-end processes
• Manage queries from both internal and external clients in an efficient and timely manner
• Liaising with global Tech & Ops counterparts on a variety of strategic initiatives to provide expertise for processes & systems, assist in testing technology rollouts, and driving enhancements to existing systems & processes
• Implement & execute processes within a control infrastructure that mitigates operational risk & allows the business to operate in a controlled environment
• Collate & present key governance metrics to the business on a regular basis
• To work alongside other Ops teams to provide cover/product knowledge (this will happen over time as the team becomes fully established)
• Ensure all processes meet the minimum Audit and Internal Control framework
• Maintain awareness of compliance and regulatory data requirements and ensure impacts are managed appropriately
• Operational contact for IPO/Placing documents for APAC region

Requirement

• Bachelor degree in Finance / Accounting or related disciplines with minimum of 3 years' experience in fund operation / fund admin
• Knowledge of confirmation and settlement principles
• Strong problem solving and communication skills
• Strong analytical skills to understand a broad set of products and complex end-to-end workflows. Detail-oriented with a control mind set
• Ability to multi-task & prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Effective communication skills to be able to partner with Front Office, Tech, and Operations teams globally
• Familiarity with DTCC CTM confirmations / DTCC Alert platforms / Markit MTM / IceLink platforms is advantageous
• Ability to think creatively to come up with and implement original solutions
• Strong interpersonal skills; able to establish and maintain a close working relationship
• Self-organised with the ability to effectively manage time across multiple projects and with competing business demands and priorities
• Possessing a continuous improvement mindset; always looking to improve the platform and processes
• Fluent in spoken and written English, Mandarin is a must
