Vice President – Market Risk, Brokerage Securities
Lead Market Risk Strategy in a Dynamic Trading Environment
We are seeking an experienced Market Risk VP to oversee and manage risk across our securities trading and brokerage business. This high-impact role offers ownership of the market risk framework, exposure to global markets, and collaboration with senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the market risk framework, including policies, methodologies, and governance.
- Set and monitor firm-wide and client-specific limits for equities, fixed income, options, futures, and derivatives.
- Conduct VaR analysis, stress tests, scenario modeling, and real-time risk monitoring.
- Investigate risk escalations, breaches, and ensure timely resolution with actionable recommendations.
- Collaborate with Technology, Trading, Operations, and Compliance to enhance risk systems and procedures.
- Ensure regulatory compliance with market risk standards (e.g., Basel, SEC).
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of market risk experience in securities trading or brokerage.
- Expertise in equities, fixed income, and derivatives, including risk methodologies (e.g., VaR, stress testing).
- Familiarity with trading platforms and risk systems; technical skills (Python/SQL) are a plus.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements for market risk.
- Proven ability to lead and influence in a fast-paced trading environment.
