Overview

We are seeking an Actuarial professional to support pricing, reserving, capital and risk activities within the insurance sector. You will apply actuarial techniques to deliver robust analysis, clear insights and well-governed recommendations to support commercial decisions and regulatory expectations.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform actuarial modelling and analysis for pricing, reserving and profitability monitoring.
  • Support capital and risk assessments, including scenario testing, sensitivities and stress testing.
  • Assist with reporting processes, ensuring accuracy, auditability and adherence to internal controls.
  • Validate data inputs, investigate anomalies and document assumptions and methodologies.
  • Contribute to model development and maintenance (e.g., experience studies, trend analyses, parameter reviews).
  • Prepare clear written summaries and present findings to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Underwriting, Risk and Operations to improve decision-making and process efficiency.

Requirements

  • 1–10 years’ actuarial experience within insurance, reinsurance or a closely related financial services environment.
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex results.
  • Working knowledge of actuarial concepts (pricing, reserving, capital, risk) and model governance.
  • Proficiency in Excel and at least one analytical/programming tool (e.g., R, Python, SQL, SAS, VBA or similar).
  • Experience handling large datasets and applying quality checks and reconciliation techniques.
  • Progress towards, or completion of, actuarial qualifications (or equivalent demonstrable expertise).
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to produce well-structured documentation and explain assumptions.
  • Strong attention to detail, integrity and commitment to confidentiality and compliance.

Desirable

  • Exposure to regulatory or financial reporting frameworks relevant to insurance.
  • Experience with forecasting, planning, or performance dashboards and automation.
  • Understanding of model validation, controls and audit readiness.

Working arrangements

This role is based in Xiamen, NA, China. You will work with cross-functional teams and may support time-critical reporting cycles as required.
