Underwriting

Underwriting professionals are responsible for understanding and evaluating potential risks in a financial contract. Entry level positions are commonly Operations Support and Underwriting Assistants, providing administrative activities such as data analysis, documentation and contract reviews. In senior positions, they may become more specialist or progress into management.

Claims

Claims are an important part of an insurance company, by which a formal request is created to cover compensation in the event of an incident. A claims career can have different routes, depending on the class of business and avenue a professional may work within, as well as their level of education or training received.

You do not necessarily need a higher-level qualification to work in claims, as this career route is very inclusive to those who do not have one. Entry level positions i.e., Claims Handler or Adjuster will commonly provide workplace training to develop an individual’s negotiation skills or handling of complex claims.
