We are currently seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Actuary to join a leading health provider on a 1-year renewable contract basis. Based in Hong Kong, this key role will support actuarial functions across a range of financial and analytical areas, contributing to the ongoing excellence in health services delivery and innovation.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting actuarial valuations, pricing, risk analysis, and product development functions. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be essential, requiring a proactive mindset, strong analytical skills, and the ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner to stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and review of quarterly and annual actuarial valuations.
- Participate in the pricing and development of health insurance products.
- Conduct claims trend analysis, experience studies, and profitability assessments.
- Support capital modelling, forecasting and financial reporting in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Work closely with internal teams such as finance, underwriting, and product development to ensure data consistency and reliability.
- Ensure compliance with local actuarial standards and international best practices.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline.
- Progress towards qualification with a recognised actuarial body (e.g., IFoA, SOA) is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of actuarial experience, ideally within health insurance or life insurance sectors.
- Strong knowledge of actuarial modelling techniques, statistical methods, and insurance products.
- High proficiency in actuarial software (e.g., Prophet, AXIS) and tools such as Excel, VBA, or SQL.
- Excellent numerical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Cantonese or Mandarin would be an advantage.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently in a dynamic environment.
