Role Overview
The Enterprise Data Transformation Lead will lead assessments of current-state data architecture, define the target enterprise data landscape, and establish architectural principles to support regulatory reporting, analytics, risk, finance, and digital platforms. The role involves managing data governance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and collaborating with finance, risk, and IT teams to promote adoption and improve legacy systems.
Key Skills & Experience
- Lead the assessment of core banking data, data warehouses/lakes, and regulatory reporting data stores.
- Define and own the target enterprise data architecture, including canonical data models and master data strategies.
- Establish architectural principles such as single version of truth and domain-based data ownership.
- Implement formal data governance, ownership, and access models aligned with regulatory expectations.
- Manage stakeholder relationships with finance, risk, IT, and business units.
- Drive adoption of new architecture and challenge legacy systems constructively.
- Possess 10–15+ years in data architecture, enterprise architecture, or data platforms.
- Have substantial banking domain experience, preferably with core banking, regulatory reporting, and risk systems.
- Demonstrate hands-on experience designing enterprise data architectures for banks or regulated financial institutions.
- Expertise in enterprise data modelling, data warehousing, metadata management, and data integration.
- Knowledge of cloud/hybrid architectures, data security, and governance tools.
- Deep understanding of data ownership, stewardship, and regulatory data controls.
- Fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, with excellent communication skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience with data lineage and data catalog tools.
- Familiarity with metadata management tools and APIs.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct current-state assessments of banking data, data warehouses, and regulatory reporting data stores.
- Define and own the target enterprise data architecture, including data models, master data, and data domains.
- Establish architectural principles like single version of truth and domain-based ownership.
- Implement data governance, ownership, and access frameworks.
- Ensure strong data lineage, traceability, and compliance for regulatory audits and risk reviews.
- Collaborate with finance, risk, IT, and business units to drive adoption of new data architectures.
- Challenge legacy systems diplomatically and deliver practical solutions to improve data architecture.
Requirements
- Right to work in Hong Kong.
- Experience of 10–15+ years in data architecture, data platforms, or enterprise architecture.
- Strong banking domain experience, ideally in core banking, regulatory reporting, or risk systems.
- Proven enterprise data architecture design experience for regulated financial institutions.
- On-site work environment required in Hong Kong.
- Employment type: Asia Permanent.
