We are seeking a motivated Legal Specialist / Paralegal who is looking to transition from private practice into the dynamic world of insurance claims. The role is ideal for individuals with experience in Employees’ Compensation, Personal Injury, or Liability cases, who are interested in developing a long-term career within the insurance industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and assess insurance claims, with a focus on Employees’ Compensation, Personal Injury, and Liability cases
- Review legal documents, including pleadings, medical reports, and settlement agreements
- Liaise with external stakeholders such as law firms, brokers, adjusters, and claimants
- Analyze case merits, liability, and quantum, providing recommendations on claim strategies
- Support negotiation and settlement discussions to achieve commercially sound outcomes
- Monitor claim progress and ensure compliance with internal guidelines and regulatory requirements
- Provide insights on legal trends and developments that may impact claims handling
Requirements
- Prior experience in a law firm handling:

- Employees’ Compensation
- Personal Injury
- Liability / Litigation cases
- Strong understanding of litigation processes and legal documentation
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both legal and non-legal stakeholders
- Detail-oriented with strong organisational abilities
- Keen interest in transitioning into the insurance sector; prior claims experience is a plus but not required
