Quantitative Developer
The Quantitative Developer joins a core team of technologists responsible for building and enhancing the platforms that support the trading team. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, focusing on developing scalable systems and maintaining the production trading environment.
The company operates within the finance sector, specialising in quantitative trading and technology-driven investment strategies. The team collaborates closely with quantitative researchers and end users to optimise research and trading infrastructure.
Role Overview
The Quantitative Developer will be part of a team dedicated to improving research tools, trading systems, and automation processes. Reporting into senior technologists, they will handle the full development cycle from research through deployment, troubleshooting, and system upgrades. Success requires delivering reliable, high-performance software and supporting the infrastructure that underpins trading activity.
Key Skills & Experience
- Lead full cycle development, including research, coding, testing, debugging, and deployment into production environments
- Build and maintain software for production applications using Python and C++
- Manage troubleshooting, break/fix, and support of the production trading system
- Develop automation scripts for deployment, configuration, and validation processes
- Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Show proficiency in working with large data sets
- Be detail-oriented and self-motivated, taking ownership of projects
- Maintain reliable and predictable availability
