Senior Property Underwriter

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Property Underwriter. The successful candidate will take a lead role in underwriting complex property risks, developing broker relationships, and contributing to profitable portfolio growth across key markets in Asia.

Key Responsibilities

• Underwrite and evaluate new and renewal property risks in accordance with company guidelines and risk appetite.
• Manage and grow a profitable portfolio across property lines.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, agents, and clients.
• Provide technical underwriting expertise and support to junior underwriters.
• Conduct regular portfolio reviews and ensure compliance with underwriting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with actuarial, claims, risk engineering, and regional underwriting teams to support business development strategies.
• Participate in market research, competitive analysis, and product development discussions.
• Represent the company at industry events, broker meetings, and client engagements.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in property underwriting within the Asia insurance market.
• Strong technical understanding of commercial property risks, exposures, and market dynamics.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
• Strong broker and client relationship management capabilities.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to team.
• Solid communication and presentation skills in English; Cantonese or Mandarin is advantageous.
