We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Senior Relationship Manager to join the Financial Institutions (FI) coverage team. This role focuses primarily on expanding and managing relationships across Non-Bank Financial Institutions (NBFIs), Asset Managers, Private Equity / Hedge Funds, and Family Offices, while overseeing a select portfolio of existing regional Bank relationships.
Role Overview
The Senior Relationship Manager will be responsible for driving top-line revenue, client acquisition, and portfolio growth across non-bank financial sectors. The candidate will originate and deliver a full suite of wholesale banking solutions—including FX & Global Markets, Treasury & Cash Management, Custody, Trade & Structured Finance, and Credit Facilities tailored for fund/asset management entities. In addition to proactive new business origination, the role involves maintaining counterparty lines and institutional relationships with existing banking partners.
Key Responsibilities

Institutional Portfolio Management: Serve as the primary coverage banker for a portfolio of NBFIs, Asset Managers, PE/VC Funds, Hedge Funds, Family Offices, and selected Bank counterparties.

Business Development & Origination: Proactively market and cross-sell bank products, including Treasury/FX, Liquidity Management, Fund Debt/Bridge Financing, Custody, and Cross-Border Capital Solutions.

Capital & Credit Structuring: Lead deal structuring and credit proposal processes for NBFI/Fund clients, working closely with Risk, Legal, and Compliance teams to evaluate creditworthiness, fund structures, and collateral framework.

Counterparty Line Maintenance: Oversee annual credit reviews, limit setups, and relationship coverage for assigned bank counterparties.

Risk & Governance: Ensure strict adherence to internal risk parameters, credit policies, HKMA regulatory frameworks, and AML/KYC/Sanctions guidelines across all fund and institutional structures.

Internal Collaboration: Partner closely with internal product specialists (Global Markets, Transaction Banking, Credit Risk, Operations) to execute tailored solution suites for sophisticated FI clients.
Key Skills & Experience

8–12+ years of FI coverage or institutional client management experience within a reputable corporate or institutional bank.

Deep product and market expertise across non-bank sectors, specifically covering Asset Management firms, Private Equity/VC Funds, Hedge Funds, Family Offices, and NBFIs.

Solid understanding of complex fund structures, capital call financing, treasury operations, and market/credit risk dynamics associated with institutional clients.

Proven track record in business acquisition, pipeline development, and revenue generation.

Strong knowledge of treasury products, FX, derivative solutions, custody, and cash management solutions.

Excellent negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Fluency in English and Mandarin (written and spoken) is required to cover Greater China and regional clients.
Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or above in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.

Minimum 8 years of direct coverage experience in Financial Institutions / NBFIs.

Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards (SFC, HKMA, and international AML/KYC standards for funds).
