Overview

Our client is a leading global insurance firm looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join their expert team in Financial Lines underwriting.
This role is also open to candidates from financial services, banking and accounting backgrounds. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, analyze, and make decisions on risks within the Financial Lines sector.
  • Build and maintain relationships with producers to foster targeted business submissions, acquire necessary underwriting details, and ensure excellent service delivery.
  • Prepare clear, concise underwriting rationales and documentation.
  • Negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing with brokers and clients while maintaining underwriting discipline.
  • Manage a renewal and new business pipeline; prioritize submissions and meet service-level timelines.
  • Maintain accurate data entry, file integrity, and reporting in underwriting systems.
  • Represent the team in broker meetings, client presentations, and market events with a professional, polished demeanor.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging risks to inform underwriting strategy.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and provide constructive feedback on any challenges faced.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of underwriting experience; or minimum 3-4 years of experience in the financial services industry.
  • Familiarity with Property & Casualty is a plus.
  • Self-driven, independent, and possess strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English and Chinese.
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other relevant software.
