Our history.

2022

New CRO Appointed

In 2022 we announced four major milestones in our growth strategy with the appointment of Kurt Schreurs, Global Chief Revenue Officer; the opening of our first German office and appointment of a German Country Director, Guido Sieber; and the acquisition of the R2 Group in The Netherlands, further expanding our European presence.

2020/

21

Navigating a Global Pandemic

In 2020/21 we managed to overcome the considerable challenges of a global pandemic. Despite the impact of COVID-19 on many in the recruitment industry we continued to grow, moving into new bigger offices in Singapore and extending our Asia offering, opening our first office in mainland China in Shenzhen. We were awarded our second Princess Royal Training award in the midst of a pandemic and, in 2021, we once again made the Recruiter Fast 50 list and won Global Recruiters Best Medium Recruitment Company, the judges praising our resilience during COVID-19.

2019

Record Breaking Year

​By 2019 we had grown in all areas of our business, won numerous awards and accolades, gone from strength to strength and broken a number of our own records. Our strategic focus, operational framework, impressive NPS customer satisfaction scores, commitment to staff learning and development and financial success enabled us to secure outside investment for the first time. When Alcuin Capital partners took a minority shareholding in the business which would contribute to the realisation of our ambitious 5 year growth plans.

2017

Strategic Acquisition

In 2017 we made our first strategic acquisition, bringing boutique specialist consultancy Atlas Global Search to extend our Financial Services specialism and service offering to include contract in Asia. This year also saw us gain a Royal Seal of Approvel by being awarded a Princess Royal Training Award.

2014

More UK & Asia Expansion

After being recognised in the Recruiter Hot 100 in 2013, the next year saw an expansion of our Insurance offering in Asia when we opened a new office in Singapore and extended across the Penines from Leeds to establish our Public Sector division in Manchester.

2010

Gravitas was Founded

Gravitas Recruitment was founded by Jonathan Ellerbeck, Alexander Naylor and Daniel Wallis, opening offices in Hong Kong, Leeds and London. Building on over a decade of working together they sought to establish a specialist recruitment firm that could offer an unrivalled services to clients and candidates, within Technology and Insurance.
