We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join our client's dynamic team based in Hong Kong. The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing all accounting operations, ensuring financial accuracy, and supporting strategic decision-making processes across the organisation.
As the Accounting Manager, you will manage and supervise the accounting team, coordinate auditing processes, develop internal controls, and ensure compliance with local regulatory and financial reporting standards. You will also be responsible for preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, maintaining general ledger reconciliation, and overseeing budgeting and forecasting activities.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations, coupled with excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude. You should be able to lead and motivate a team while managing multiple deadlines within a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger management.
- Supervise and support accounting staff, including performance reviews and training.
- Prepare and review financial statements and reports in accordance with local and international accounting standards.
- Coordinate and prepare for internal and external audits.
- Develop and implement effective internal financial controls and procedures.
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations, financial reporting standards, and corporate policies.
- Provide strategic recommendations and financial analysis to support senior management in decision-making.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional qualifications (e.g. ACCA, CPA) preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and regulatory requirements in Hong Kong.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Fluent in English; proficiency in Cantonese or Mandarin is an advantage.
- Detail-oriented, well-organised, and capable of handling multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
