We are seeking an experienced Actuarial ALM Associate Manager to join our team based in Shanghai, China. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated actuarial professional with a strong background in Asset Liability Management (ALM), solvency regulations, and actuarial modelling, ideally with at least 4 years of relevant industry experience.
In this role, you will play a key part in supporting and managing the ALM framework within the actuarial function, contributing directly to capital optimisation, risk modelling, and balance sheet management. You will be responsible for assessing and improving the ALM strategies to support financial soundness and long-term sustainability, developing models to assess the impact of market developments on reserves and risk capital, and ensuring ongoing regulatory alignment.
Your work will involve close collaboration with risk management, finance, and investment teams to ensure consistency in the application of ALM strategies and solvency monitoring. Strong technical proficiency in actuarial software, modelling tools, and risk-based capital frameworks is essential. You will also be expected to stay abreast of the evolving China risk-based solvency systems and international best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, refine, and maintain ALM models ensuring accuracy and compliance with local regulatory requirements.
- Support the regular review of asset and liability profiles, providing actionable insights and strategies in response to economic changes and business plans.
- Assist in managing the impact of interest rate, credit, and liquidity risks on the balance sheet.
- Deliver reports and analysis on solvency metrics and capital adequacy under regulatory frameworks (e.g., C-ROSS).
- Ensure alignment with strategic asset allocation and financial goals of the business.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to integrate ALM considerations into product design, pricing, and valuation processes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Finance, or related field.
- A recognised actuarial qualification or near-qualified status (e.g., ASA or equivalent).
- Minimum 4 years of experience in actuarial or ALM roles within the insurance or financial services industry.
- Demonstrated understanding of ALM techniques, risk management principles, and solvency frameworks.
- Proficiency in actuarial modelling software (e.g., Prophet, MoSes) and strong analytical and programming skills (e.g., Excel/VBA, SQL, Python preferred).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong organisational abilities, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Salary: ¥500,000 per year
