Overview

We are seeking an Actuarial Analyst to support core actuarial activities across reporting, modelling, valuation and capital management within the insurance industry. This role suits a technically strong actuarial professional with experience in IFRS 17 and/or actuarial modelling, ALM, embedded value (EV) or statutory valuation, who can work collaboratively with stakeholders and deliver high-quality analysis to deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain and enhance actuarial models used for valuation, projections, pricing support and management reporting.
  • Support IFRS 17 activities including assumption setting, methodology implementation, results analysis and controls documentation.
  • Perform actuarial valuation tasks, including experience analysis, reserves analysis and movements reporting.
  • Contribute to ALM analysis, cashflow projections, scenario testing and sensitivity analysis.
  • Assist with EV calculations and analysis of drivers where applicable.
  • Prepare clear documentation, reconciliations and audit-ready outputs; support internal and external audit requests.
  • Communicate findings to non-actuarial stakeholders, highlighting key risks, limitations and recommended actions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation, controls and process standardisation.

Requirements

  • 4–8 years’ actuarial experience in modelling and/or IFRS 17 and/or ALM and/or EV and/or valuation.
  • Strong understanding of insurance products, actuarial assumptions and reporting impacts.
  • Proficiency with actuarial modelling tools and spreadsheets; strong analytical and data-handling skills (e.g. SQL, Python, R or VBA advantageous).
  • Progress towards actuarial qualification (or qualified), with a solid grounding in actuarial principles.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with proven ability to manage multiple deadlines and produce accurate outputs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain technical topics clearly.
  • Experience working within robust governance and control frameworks is desirable.

What You’ll Bring

  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and collaborate across functions.
  • High standards of professionalism, integrity and confidentiality.
