We are seeking an experienced professional to join our client's team in Hong Kong as a Director, Senior Relationship Manager within the group. In this role, you will develop and manage a portfolio of mid to large cap corporate relationships, supporting the overall business strategy and ensuring sustained client growth and profitability.
This position will play a critical role in managing all aspects of corporate client relationships, involving cross-selling a range of corporate and investment banking products including cash management, trade finance, debt capital markets, bilateral and syndicated loans, and risk management solutions. A key focus will be on promoting the bank’s sustainability and energy transition priorities.
You will be responsible for developing comprehensive account plans, coordinating transactions, assessing and mitigating counterparty risks in cooperation with product partners, and facilitating global network collaboration to maximise client coverage. Adherence to internal compliance standards and risk management protocols is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute detailed account plans for assigned relationships and targeted prospects to drive profitability and strategic engagement.
- Manage all facets of client relationships, including transaction oversight and reporting to senior management.
- Lead cross-selling initiatives across corporate and investment banking, with a focus on sustainability and energy transition offerings.
- Monitor and manage counterparty risks, working with relevant business lines to minimise default and specific provisioning.
- Support access to and collaboration with other global branches and units to ensure comprehensive client coverage.
- Maintain full compliance with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Role Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in corporate banking sales and relationship management.
- Strong product knowledge across banking and capital markets, including lending, treasury, and trade solutions.
- Excellent relationship management, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to work independently under pressure while delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong influencing and presentation skills, with the confidence to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Fluent in spoken and written English. Fluency in Cantonese and Mandarin is essential.
