A leading foreign bank is seeking an experienced Executive Director, Head of Institutional Equities to drive the growth of its Institutional Equities Distribution franchise across Asia. This senior leadership role will oversee institutional client coverage, equities product distribution, and revenue generation across both secondary and ECM markets.
The successful candidate will lead and expand relationships with high‑value institutional clients, including sovereign wealth funds, hedge funds, family offices, private banks, and corporate investors. You will drive the distribution of equities and ECM products, source block trades, and strengthen the firm’s presence in the Asian equity markets.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage institutional equity client coverage across Singapore, Hong Kong/China, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the wider Asia region.
- Deliver high‑touch service through daily market updates, research insights, trade ideas, and strategic investment discussions.
- Drive equities product distribution in close partnership with Sales Trading, Research, and Equity Capital Markets (ECM).
- Actively pitch and distribute ECM transactions including IPOs, private placements, rights issues, and preferential offerings.
- Source and execute block trades; expand client usage of the firm’s equity solutions such as derivatives, stock lending, and electronic trading platforms.
- Grow revenue through trading commissions and ECM brokerage, developing a sustainable institutional client franchise.
- Work cross‑functionally with internal teams (Global Markets, Investment Banking, Research, Operations, Legal & Compliance) to onboard clients and strengthen the equities platform.
- Participate in analyst marketing, corporate roadshows, and internal investment discussions.
- Identify structural gaps in the equities/ECM ecosystem and drive strategic improvements.
- Double up as Prime Brokerage Sales, acquiring hedge fund clients and providing trading, financing, and custody solutions.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Strong track record in institutional equity sales with established buy-side client relationships across Asia.
- Deep understanding of equity products, derivatives, and ECM transactions.
- Proven ability to generate revenue through active trading, client engagement, and ECM distribution.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence senior investors and internal stakeholders.
- Experience building or expanding an institutional equity franchise is highly preferred.
- Familiar with regulatory, operational, and risk considerations within institutional equities and prime brokerage.
- Entrepreneurial, proactive, and capable of driving business growth in a competitive market.
