We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to lead the marine broking division in Hong Kong. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to shape and grow a key sector within an established organisation, delivering bespoke risk solutions to clients across the marine insurance market, including hull, cargo, liability, and logistics risks. The successful candidate will be responsible for strategic leadership, driving business development, and managing a high-performing team of brokers to ensure sustainable growth and client satisfaction.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in marine insurance broking, with extensive knowledge of local and international markets. You will be adept at developing key client and market relationships, negotiating complex placements, and delivering tailored insurance programmes. Strong leadership and mentoring skills are essential, as you will oversee the development and performance of your team while cultivating a collaborative and inclusive working environment.
You must possess excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, coupled with strong analytical abilities to identify opportunities and design competitive insurance solutions. Confidence in client and market engagement, as well as the ability to represent the organisation at industry events, is crucial. Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and delivering against revenue targets will be beneficial.
A minimum of 10 years’ experience in marine insurance is required, preferably within a broking capacity. Professional qualifications such as ACII or equivalent are desirable. Familiarity with regulatory requirements in Hong Kong and across the Asia-Pacific region is essential, as is the ability to work effectively within a fast-paced, results-driven environment. Demonstrated success in leadership roles and business development within the insurance sector will be a significant advantage.
