Managing Director - Insurer

Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic Managing Director to lead operations and drive growth for a prominent insurance organisation based in Hong Kong. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record of executive leadership within the insurance or financial services industry, and will be responsible for steering the business through evolving market conditions, regulatory environments, and global trends.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction to the organisation.
• Ensure business objectives and financial targets are met or exceeded.
• Lead change and transformation initiatives to ensure sustainable growth and profitability.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with regulatory bodies, partners, investors, and internal stakeholders.
• Oversee compliance with local and international insurance regulatory requirements.
• Identify growth opportunities through market research and competitive strategy.
• Mentor senior leadership teams and develop internal talent across the business.
• Monitor and mitigate organisational risks and ensure robust governance practices.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in a senior executive leadership role within the insurance, financial services, or related industry, ideally with exposure to the Asia-Pacific region.
• Deep knowledge of insurance products, regulatory frameworks, and competitive market dynamics.
• Strong financial acumen and experience managing P&L responsibilities.
• Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing executive teams.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Relevant degree in business, finance, economics or a related field; postgraduate qualifications (e.g. MBA) would be advantageous.
• In-depth understanding of corporate governance and enterprise risk management.
• Strong strategic thinking with a hands-on leadership style.
