We are seeking an Operations Strategy Associate to join our client's team in Shanghai, China. This role offers the opportunity to drive process improvements and deliver solutions in partnership with IT, supporting operations and the COO function. You will contribute to enhancing operational efficiency and influencing strategic planning through a combination of process understanding, stakeholder engagement, and project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support projects to streamline internal operational processes, from planning through to implementation.
  • Work closely with IT to design, test, and deliver solutions to key operational challenges.
  • Identify inefficiencies and pain points in systems or manual processes, and propose data-driven, scalable improvements.
  • Contribute to new product development and operational change initiatives.
  • Track and manage the book of work including system bug resolutions and feature enhancements for the Order Management System (OMS).
  • Engage cross-functionally with stakeholders to capture business needs and ensure solutions align with strategic goals.
  • Develop an end-to-end understanding of operational processes across multiple teams.
  • Support the creation of business requirements and business cases. Training will be provided as needed.
  • Build deep systems and process knowledge to enable ongoing operational improvements.

Key Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in Middle Office Operations, with broad, multi-asset exposure – including strong knowledge of OTC derivatives (e.g. swaps, interest rate swaps, total return swaps, FX forwards, FX swaps, equity swaps, and commodity swaps).
  • Proven experience in operational project work, including process reviews, user testing, and implementing transformation initiatives, while maintaining core operational responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform gap analysis, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions that improve efficiency and reduce risk.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly, influence internal stakeholders, and provide concise updates.
  • A proactive and analytical approach combined with a willingness to challenge existing processes.
  • Comfort working within a fast-paced environment requiring coordination across multiple teams.
