The ideal candidate will possess significant experience in data engineering within the telecom or similar data-rich industry. You will need strong expertise in building data pipelines, data warehousing solutions, and streamlining data flows using modern tools and platforms such as Apache Spark, Kafka, Airflow, and cloud services like AWS, Azure, or GCP. Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language such as Python, Java, or Scala is essential.
You will be expected to lead end-to-end data integration projects, working closely with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders across different departments to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and availability. Experience with data modelling, ETL/ELT design, and performance optimisation of large datasets is vital. A solid understanding of data governance, including compliance, security, and privacy concerns, particularly in a telecom context, is highly advantageous.
To be successful in this role, you should have a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, along with at least five years of relevant experience in data engineering or a similar role. Experience working in agile teams and familiarity with DevOps practices and tools, such as CI/CD pipelines, containerisation, and infrastructure as code, will be beneficial. Strong communication skills and a problem-solving mindset are critical, as you will be cooperating with cross-functional teams and translating complex technical requirements into practical data solutions.
