We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Vice President - Operational Risk Management to join our team based in Hong Kong. This role is vital in enhancing the operational risk framework, conducting risk assessments, and supporting strategic initiatives to strengthen the organisation's risk management culture and capabilities.
The successful candidate will lead the identification, assessment, monitoring, and reporting of operational risks across business units. You will work closely with senior stakeholders to develop and implement risk mitigation strategies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies. In addition, you will support governance forums, contribute to incident management processes, and drive continuous improvement through robust risk control and assurance activities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and maintaining the operational risk management framework.
- Facilitating risk and control self-assessments (RCSA) across departments.
- Enhancing capabilities around Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and control testing.
- Analysing and reporting operational risk incidents, providing insights and recommendations.
- Collaborating with audit, compliance, and other control functions to address risk issues.
- Training business partners on risk awareness and risk mitigation techniques.
- Developing and maintaining risk dashboards and enterprise risk reports for executive leadership.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Risk Management, Business Administration or a related discipline. Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., FRM, PRM) are advantageous.
- A minimum of 8 years' experience in operational risk or enterprise risk management within the financial services industry.
- Strong understanding of risk frameworks such as Basel III, COSO, or ISO 31000.
- Proven ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and problem-solving capabilities.
- Effective communication skills in English, with Cantonese or Mandarin advantageously considered.
- Demonstrated success in managing complex projects and implementing risk controls in dynamic environments.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and risk systems (e.g., RSA Archer, SAP GRC) a plus.
