Location: Jiangmen, Guangdong, China

We are seeking a highly experienced Equipment Improvement Engineer with a strong background in automation equipment technology management. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in leading European or Japanese automotive enterprises, including joint ventures and subsidiaries. This role is essential in driving continuous improvement and efficiency across our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and improve company-wide improvement systems, processes, lean production tools and methodologies. Organise continuous training and promotion to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Conduct value stream analysis, evaluate production line layouts, labour requirements, and logistics planning. Support layout design and workflow optimisation to improve manufacturing efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Analyse business operations in line with strategic company goals. Identify improvement opportunities across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Financial and Sustainability (SQDFS) metrics. Lead and implement key improvement initiatives, project reforms and process optimisation.
  • Promote continuous improvement activities throughout all departments, ensuring active participation across the organisation. Monitor implementation progress and achievement of improvement targets.
  • Collaborate with equipment departments to introduce new technologies and innovative automation solutions, including production lines and fixtures.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in improvement roles, with a strong focus on the automotive sector and automation equipment enhancement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong presentation and meeting facilitation capabilities. Fluency in English is highly desirable.
  • Solid understanding of equipment and process design, as well as quality control tools. Familiarity with digital manufacturing technologies is expected.
  • Proficient in technical tools such as VSM, SPC, MSA, FMEA, 8D, visual management, standardisation, Kanban, and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, effectively working with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with workforce reduction or "lights-out" factory projects is considered a plus.
