Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Production Operations Manager to oversee the integrated operations of an overseas sheet metal manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for managing the entire production chain including Production, PMC, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams, ensuring high-efficiency operations, quality compliance, on-time delivery, and cost optimisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute production plans according to orders and capacity; ensure on-time and quality delivery.
- Implement 5S and lean manufacturing practices to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
- Establish and manage quality control systems to resolve production issues and meet standards.
- Lead recruitment, training, and performance evaluation for production team members.
- Plan and manage equipment maintenance to minimise downtime.
- Create material requirement plans (MRP) and production schedules to balance supply and demand.
- Monitor material delivery schedules and maintain optimal inventory levels through regular audits.
- Continuously improve PMC processes to increase accuracy and turnover rates.
- Develop and optimise sheet metal processes and documentation for operational stability.
- Resolve production technical issues and support production site during scale-up and new product introduction.
- Manage technical files, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Evaluate and manage suppliers through performance systems, contracts, and strategic purchasing.
- Handle supply chain disruptions promptly, including delays and quality issues.
- Drive supply chain process improvements to enhance responsiveness and competitiveness.
Requirements
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical Manufacturing, Sheet Metal Engineering, Supply Chain Management or related fields preferred.
- 8-10 years of relevant experience, including 3-5 years of overseas sheet metal factory management experience.
- Solid understanding of sheet metal manufacturing processes such as laser cutting and bending, with familiarity in quality standards.
- Proficient in PMC management and ERP/MRP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
- Skilled in process development and problem resolution; CAD/SolidWorks experience is a plus.
- Strong supplier management and cost control capabilities with negotiation experience.
- Analytical skills for interpreting production, materials, and cost data to drive improvements.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities, with a goal-oriented mindset.
- Excellent coordination and collaboration skills with internal and external stakeholders.
