We are seeking an experienced and driven Actuarial Manager to join our team based in Hong Kong. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing actuarial functions, including pricing, reserving, and capital modelling, while offering strategic insights and supporting key business decisions.
As an Actuarial Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of actuaries and analysts, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of calculations and reports. You will oversee the production and communication of actuarial analyses and models, contribute to business planning and forecasting processes, and support the regulatory reporting requirements under the Hong Kong Insurance Regulatory Framework (HKIRF). Your expertise will also be instrumental in helping the business meet IFRS 17 requirements and embed them into financial reporting procedures.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified actuary (FIA or equivalent) with at least five years of post-qualification experience in the insurance or reinsurance industry, preferably with supervisory experience. A thorough understanding of Hong Kong actuarial regulations and standards is essential. Strong analytical skills and proficiency in actuarial modelling tools such as RAFM, Prophet, or Moses are crucial. Experience with data analytics tools like R, Python, or SAS will be highly valued.
As a confident communicator, you must possess the ability to present complex actuarial concepts to non-actuarial stakeholders, including senior management. You will be expected to interact cross-functionally with finance, risk, underwriting, and IT teams to ensure effective delivery of projects. A high attention to detail, a proactive mindset, and the ability to prioritise and deliver to tight deadlines are key attributes we are looking for.
