We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our Compliance team based in Central, Hong Kong Island. This role is an integral part of our central compliance function, focusing on ensuring that all regulatory, legal, and internal compliance obligations are met across the organisation’s operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing, implementing, and maintaining compliance frameworks in line with industry regulations and best practices within the financial services sector.
The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of Hong Kong’s regulatory environment, including the SFC requirements, anti-money laundering regulations, data privacy laws, and other applicable legislation relevant to the industry. Responsibilities include conducting compliance risk assessments, providing regulatory advice to internal stakeholders, preparing reports for senior management and regulatory bodies, and supporting the maintenance of robust compliance monitoring and testing regimes.
Applicants should have at least 7 years of relevant experience in compliance, risk management, or legal roles within financial services or a regulatory body, with a demonstrable track record of managing complex compliance issues. A strong academic background in law, finance, or a related discipline is essential, and professional certifications such as CAMS, CFA, or ICA are highly regarded. Exceptional analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills are also required, along with the ability to interpret and respond to regulatory changes in a timely and coherent manner.
This role will require collaboration with various business units to ensure consistent application of compliance policies and procedures, training and awareness programmes, and the promotion of a strong compliance culture throughout the organisation. The ability to work independently and exercise sound judgement under pressure is vital. Fluency in English is essential, and proficiency in Cantonese and Mandarin is an advantage.
