Data Sourcer

We are seeking a talented and proactive Data Sourcer to play a vital role in identifying and acquiring critical datasets to support our client's high-performance trading desks. Based in Hong Kong, this role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to drive data acquisition strategies in a fast-paced, cutting-edge financial environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for proactively sourcing, evaluating and acquiring new datasets aligned with the strategic needs of our trading operations. You will engage with both internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure our teams have timely access to high-quality traditional and alternative data sources, giving them a competitive edge in the market.

Key Responsibilities:

• Proactively source and evaluate new datasets that align with trading desk priorities.
• Identify and assess potential new data vendors to meet evolving data requirements.
• Manage and maintain strong relationships with existing data vendors.
• Monitor vendor updates and new dataset releases to ensure timely integration and communication.
• Lead and contribute to the full data acquisition lifecycle—from identification and due diligence to vendor negotiation, onboarding and integration.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in data sourcing, procurement or market data management within financial services.
• Demonstrated experience with traditional and alternative financial datasets.
• Detail-oriented with exceptional organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across internal teams and external providers.
• Proven success working in dynamic, fast-paced trading or financial environments.
