This role is pivotal in driving enterprise-wide IT transformation, ensuring the IT organization is scalable, resilient, and prepared for future AI-enabled ways of working. The successful candidate will lead strategic planning, change management, stakeholder communication, operational stability, and financial governance to support the organisation’s transformation objectives.
Role Overview:
The Director of IT Operating Model and Enablement is responsible for leading and executing major IT transformation programs. This includes developing comprehensive strategies and roadmaps, managing change initiatives, maintaining operational stability, and tracking financial impacts to ensure the delivery of measurable business value. The role requires managing large, hybrid teams across different locations and ensuring smooth transition and integration of new processes and systems within the wider IT and business landscapes.
Key Skills & Experience:
• Over 10 years’ IT experience, including leadership of medium- to large-scale transformation programs
• Proven leadership of >100-person, hybrid onshore and offshore teams
• Strong IT financial management skills, including budgeting and portfolio governance
• Hands-on experience in IT service management, SLA governance, and business impact measurement
• Proven capability in establishing and leading Service Transition and Service Operations under ITIL
• Experience in defining application criticality based on business impact versus investment
• Practical change management experience across people, process, and systems
• Expertise in IT project and portfolio management, including transitioning from waterfall to agile delivery
• Strong ITIL knowledge across incident, problem, transition, and operations management
• Ability to translate technical and operational metrics into business-focused dashboards
• Influencing, communication, coaching, conflict resolution, negotiation, and vendor management skills
• Fluent in Cantonese and English
Key Responsibilities:
• Establish and implement a comprehensive IT transformation strategy and roadmap
• Lead change management initiatives, including training, coaching, and capability development
• Develop and maintain a communication framework to ensure stakeholder alignment and transparency
• Oversee operational stability during transformation activities, mitigating risks effectively
• Monitor and track financial impacts, ensuring investments deliver tangible business value
• Manage and coordinate onshore and offshore teams to achieve transformation goals
• Ensure compliance with ITIL standards and best practices in service transition and operations
• Define application criticality based on business impact, guiding investment decisions
• Translate operational metrics into clear, actionable dashboards for leadership review
Requirements:
• University degree in Information Technology or a related discipline
• Over 10 years’ relevant IT experience, including leadership in large-scale transformation projects
• Proven experience leading teams of over 100 members in hybrid environments
• Strong financial management background in IT
• Hands-on IT service management skills and ITIL certification (V3 or higher)
• Practical change management experience across people, process, and systems
• Experience with IT project and portfolio management, transitioning from waterfall to agile
• Fluency in Cantonese and English
Nice to Have:
• Experience with HW Migration/ETL or HW Strategy projects
• Knowledge of APAC transformation and delivery strategies
