We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Manager for Financial Reporting on a contract basis within the insurance industry. This role is based in Hong Kong Island, and will be responsible for supporting all aspects of financial reporting, regulatory submissions, and financial control processes within the organisation.
The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of financial accounting principles, particularly as they relate to the insurance sector, and will be comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. This contract position offers the opportunity to gain exposure to complex financial reporting requirements and to collaborate with cross-functional teams including actuarial, tax, risk, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare financial and regulatory reports in compliance with local and international accounting standards (e.g. HKFRS, IFRS)
- Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes including accounting entries and reconciliations
- Support the production of management reports and financial statements
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors to ensure successful audit outcomes
- Review and enhance internal controls and accounting processes
- Liaise with regulatory bodies to ensure timely and accurate submission of reports
- Assist in the implementation of financial reporting systems and process improvements
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g. HKICPA, ACCA, CPA) preferred
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in financial reporting or accounting, ideally within the insurance or financial services industry
- Strong knowledge of HKFRS and/or IFRS
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with financial reporting systems
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under pressure
- Fluency in English; Cantonese or Mandarin is an advantage
