We are seeking a highly motivated Data Science Manager/Assistant Manager to join our dynamic and innovative team within the insurance industry in Hong Kong.
The ideal candidate will have 3–7+ years of hands-on experience in data science, artificial intelligence (AI), or machine learning, with a minimum of three years in a senior leadership or managerial role. You should possess a strong track record of delivering impactful AI initiatives, particularly involving large language models (LLMs), generative AI (GenAI), and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) solutions aligned with business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the execution of data-driven projects, from data extraction and modelling to deployment and monitoring.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders to identify and prioritise AI use cases that deliver tangible business value across underwriting, claims, pricing, customer engagement and operational optimisation.
- Oversee the development and implementation of LLM, GenAI, and RAG initiatives.
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of data scientists and analysts.
- Ensure robust model validation and governance standards are upheld across the solution lifecycle.
- Work closely with IT and data engineering teams to ensure smooth integration of AI models into production systems.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering or a related discipline.
- 3–7+ years of experience in data science, AI or machine learning, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership capacity.
- Demonstrable experience in delivering strategic AI use cases with measurable business outcomes.
- Expertise in deploying LLMs, GenAI, and RAG at scale within enterprise environments.
- Hands-on experience and solid understanding and with Azure Cloud, Databricks, data pipeline development, and cloud data engineering.
- Proficient in Python and SQL, with thorough knowledge of libraries and frameworks such as Pandas, Numpy, Scikit-learn, Spark, and others.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to convey complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong project management and team leadership abilities.
Location: Hong Kong
Salary: Up to HKD 70,000 per month
