We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated individual to join our dynamic Finance team as a Financial Reporting Officer, SO/AM (Contract) within the insurance industry. Based in Hong Kong, this role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a professional environment with a focus on regulatory and management reporting, financial accounting, and compliance.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing timely and accurate financial reports in accordance with local regulatory requirements and internal standards. Duties will include assisting with month-end and year-end closing processes, preparing financial statements, variance analysis, and regulatory submissions to relevant authorities. The role may also require coordinating with both internal and external auditors and ensuring audit readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review financial and management reports in compliance with regulatory and internal requirements.
- Assist in the month-end and year-end close processes, including journal posting, account reconciliation, and financial analysis.
- Support regulatory reporting such as HKIA filings, tax filings, and ad hoc submissions.
- Ensure data accuracy and consistency across various financial systems and reports.
- Coordinate with auditors for statutory audit and internal audits, providing relevant documentation and resolving issues.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement in reporting procedures and internal controls.
Requirements:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- Qualified accountant (HKICPA, ACCA, CPA Australia, or equivalent) is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in financial reporting or accounting, preferably within the insurance or financial services sector.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with accounting systems such as Oracle or SAP.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Proactive, flexible, and team-oriented with good interpersonal skills.
