Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Internal Audit to lead our internal audit function based in Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong. This senior leadership role is critical in ensuring the ongoing effectiveness of our internal controls, risk management practices, and governance framework. With a focus on commercial organisations and conglomerates, the ideal candidate will bring a wealth of expertise in internal audit, preferably with solid experience in the consumer goods trading sector. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the internal audit team in planning, executing, and reporting on audit assignments.
  • Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and governance processes.
  • Design, establish, and implement audit methodologies, tools, and strategies in line with industry best practices.
  • Deliver high-quality audit reporting and present audit results and recommendations to senior management and the board.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to promote compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
  • Track implementation of audit recommendations and ensure timely resolution of outstanding audit issues.
  • Stay abreast of developments in auditing standards, industry regulations, and risk management techniques.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline; a Master’s degree or professional certification such as CIA or CPA is highly desirable.
  • At least 15 years of experience in internal audit, ideally within commercial firms or large conglomerates.
  • Strong knowledge of consumer goods trading operations will be a distinct advantage.
  • Demonstrated success in managing audit teams and delivering complex audit assignments.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with strong report-writing and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to engage and influence stakeholders across multiple levels of the organisation.
