We are seeking a Java Backend Engineer to join an ambitious product development team located in Hong Kong. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and scaling backend systems and APIs, including RESTful and WebSocket interfaces, to deliver market data, execute orders and ensure system reliability. You will collaborate closely with product and business development teams to gather requirements, contribute to system design, and translate product visions into technical implementations. Your work will include designing and maintaining large-scale, concurrent distributed systems with high performance and reliability, while consistently producing clear technical documentation and innovative, practical solutions to complex engineering problems.
To thrive in this role, candidates should possess an honours degree in Computer Science or a related engineering discipline from a top-tier university, along with at least three years of backend development experience. A deep proficiency in Java programming is essential, including familiarity with Java network and multithreaded programming, data structures, algorithms, and design patterns. Strong understanding of Java Virtual Machine (JVM) internals is expected.
Hands-on experience with microservice architectures and frameworks such as Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and MyBatis is required. Applicants should demonstrate proficiency in integrating tools like Redis, Kafka, and Elasticsearch for caching, messaging, and search functionalities. Strong Linux knowledge and experience in a high-pressure working environment, preferably within a financial product context or large-scale internet company, is desirable. Candidates must also display excellent abstract thinking, analytical and system design capabilities, and possess a proactive, solution-oriented mindset, with a strong sense of teamwork and self-motivation.
