The Java Developer eCommerce IT EQD Trading role is integral to supporting the development and maintenance of Java-based applications within the eCommerce EQD APAC perimeter, contributing to the organisation’s FX perimeter growth. The role involves closely working with business analysts, project teams, and support teams to deliver high-quality solutions that meet business needs.
Key Skills & Experience
- Java (≥17) core programming experience, including multi-threaded programming with low-latency constraints
- Using Spring: Spring Boot, Spring Cloud Stream, etc.
- GIT and related Code Review software
- Web technologies: Angular >12, Typescript/JavaScript (advantage)
- MS SQL or Oracle Server
- Experience relating to DevOps practices and tooling (advantage)
- Knowledge of Agile practices (advantage)
Nice to Have
- Practical knowledge of Kafka or any stream processing platform
Role Overview
This position involves maintaining and building Java applications following quality standards on the Smart Derivatives perimeter. The Senior Java Developer will be responsible for successful solution delivery, communication with clients and project teams, and ongoing collaboration with support and production teams. The role is based onsite and requires close coordination with various technical and business stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and develop Java-based applications following coding standards and best practices
- Ensure the successful delivery of solutions within the project scope
- Communicate progress and technical details with clients and project teams
- Work with Business Analysts to understand business requirements
- Collaborate with the support and production team, performing 3rd line support
- Assist in defining software architectures and explore existing systems
- Contribute to defining and developing best practices with the central team
