We are seeking a talented and motivated Python Quantitative Developer to join our client's dynamic team based in Hong Kong. As part of a technology and data-driven group specialising in quantitative and systematic investment strategies, this role offers the chance to work on high-performance systems and contribute to mission-critical components supporting global trading operations. You will be instrumental in designing, building, and supporting a cutting-edge trading framework, allowing our algorithms to operate reliably in real-time financial markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain software components supporting quantitative trading frameworks
- Design clean and scalable architecture, ensuring robustness and reliability
- Build monitoring tools and define alert thresholds; focus on reducing alert noise and ensuring alerts are actionable
- Create and optimise incident response playbooks; participate in on-call rotations for operational support
- Analyse system performance data and conduct root cause analysis of service degradations and outages
- Design and implement automation tools to improve self-healing systems and reduce manual intervention
- Collaborate closely with development and research teams to define and track SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs
- Continuously enhance software performance within a low-latency, high-availability trading environment
Required Skills and Experience:
- 2 to 10 years of professional software development experience
- Expert-level proficiency in Python with a strong focus on automation, scripting, and code quality
- Experience in other advanced programming languages is beneficial
- Practical knowledge of designing real-time systems or high-performance computing applications
- Experience with quantitative, algorithmic, or systematic trading systems is highly advantageous
- Understanding of container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes
- Exposure to cloud platforms, particularly AWS, is a plus
- Demonstrated experience in building systems in a low-latency, high-throughput environment
