We are seeking a highly skilled Quantitative Developer (Data) to join our dynamic team based in Hong Kong. This role is critical in supporting quantitative research and trading strategies through the design, development, and maintenance of robust and scalable data solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in computer science, quantitative methods, and financial markets, with a passion for solving complex data problems in a high-performance environment.
As a Quantitative Developer, you will be responsible for managing vast datasets, building data ingestion pipelines, ensuring data quality and consistency, and facilitating efficient access to data for research and trading purposes. You will collaborate closely with quantitative researchers, traders, and other developers to support the entire trading lifecycle, from idea generation to execution and performance analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and optimise data pipelines for structured and unstructured data.
- Develop tools and frameworks for processing, validating, and analysing large-scale datasets in real time and batch modes.
- Collaborate with researchers and portfolio managers to provide high-quality data for model development and backtesting.
- Contribute to the automation of data workflows and the maintenance of internal data libraries and databases.
- Monitor data integrity and proactively troubleshoot data issues as they arise.
- Continuously evaluate and implement new data technologies and best practices to improve system performance.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
- Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++, with experience in software engineering best practices including version control, testing, and code review.
- Experience with data engineering tools and frameworks, such as SQL, Spark, Kafka, or similar.
- Knowledge of time-series data and techniques for high-frequency data processing is highly desirable.
- Proficient in working with large-scale datasets and building scalable and reliable data infrastructures.
- Familiarity with financial markets and asset classes including equities, fixed income, FX, and derivatives is a plus.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
