Reliability Engineer
The Reliability Engineer role focuses on managing and supporting the company's electronic trading infrastructure, ensuring the robustness and performance of critical systems. The position offers an on-site opportunity within a leading quantitative trading organisation known for innovation and technological excellence.
The organisation develops high-performance trading platforms, specialising in low-latency programming, FPGA technology, hardware acceleration, and machine learning. It values technical expertise and aims to sustain its platform's scalability, functionality, and reliability through dedicated engineering solutions.
Role Overview
The Reliability Engineer will be responsible for managing the widely-deployed Order Management Systems and Market Data Delivery Systems across all major exchanges and asset classes. Working closely with trading, risk management, and compliance teams, the role involves coordinating requirements, implementing solutions in production, and supporting system health. Success depends on providing level one and level two support, contributing to system design improvements, and serving as the primary technical contact for brokers and exchanges. The role also includes monitoring system performance and reporting on its health, with periodic after-hours coverage expected.
Key Skills & Experience
- Manage the operation of Order Management Systems and Market Data Delivery Systems across various exchanges and asset classes.
- Coordinate with trading, risk, and compliance teams to meet their technical requirements.
- Deliver support for production systems at levels one and two.
- Build and enhance support systems to improve reliability and enable self-correction.
- Monitor and report on system status and health.
- Serve as the primary technical contact for brokers and exchanges.
- Provide periodic after-hours system support.
Requirements
- Right to work in the on-site location.
- Proficient in Python scripting and/or other scripting languages such as Perl, Bash, or Shell.
- In-depth knowledge of Linux OS, Kernel, scheduling, and performance tuning.
- Strong understanding of network concepts including TCP/IP, routing, VLAN, multicast.
- Knowledge of SQL, MongoDB, and database usage.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the finance industry.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills.
