Our client, a leading investment bank is looking to hire a Senior IT Strategist. This person will technically lead the build out of their automated market making platform and be responsible for their latency needs.
The right person for this role will be someone who possesses a hands-on skillset in building low latency technology across their different layers - operating system, hardware, networking configuration and the application layer.
Direct Responsibilities
- Automated Tools Development: Design and implement efficient automated tools for translating quant traders’ strategies into orders.
- Monitoring & Analysis: Create features that help traders monitor and analyze the behaviors of strategies in production, ensuring risk and position management.
- Production Platform Management: Proactively manage the production platform by:
- Leveraging software engineering to eliminate operational work via automation.
- Optimizing system architecture for operational efficiency.
- Conducting thorough post-mortems to guide platform evolution.
- Library Maintenance: Develop and maintain an expansive library of automatons and alpha models.
- Monitoring Tools: Develop and maintain monitoring and production tools used in the trading platform.
- Simulation & Backtesting: Create and maintain simulation tools and backtesting environments to validate strategies.
- Risk Management: Contribute to enforcing risk filters for each automaton to prevent abnormal behavior.
- Orderly Production Monitoring: Organize and monitor the production of automatons during trading hours.
- Performance Improvement: Monitor, investigate, and improve the performance of trading strategies.
- Optimal Setup Research: Contribute to the research and design of optimal setups for various strategies.
- Infrastructure Coordination: Coordinate and test infrastructure changes with IT and Production teams, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
Required Competencies
Technical & Behavioral Competencies:
- Expertise in Modern C++ (C++11/14/17/20) and relevant toolkits.
- Familiarity with low-latency system programming techniques.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in developing/supporting trading platforms.
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve issues under pressure.
- Excellent oral communication skills.
Relevant Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience supporting applications in a Linux/Unix environment.
- Familiarity with Python or other scripting languages.
