We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior KDB Quant Developer to join our Equity Auctions team, within the Technology department, based in Hong Kong. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of quantitative research and software development, where your contributions will directly impact trading performance and profitability. You will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining high-performance trading tools and research infrastructure, as well as integrating new signals and execution logic into live trading strategies.

In this role, you will write and optimise production trading software, develop research tools and data pipelines, implement trading signals, and create transaction cost analysis dashboards. You will collaborate closely with quantitative researchers and traders, translating abstract requirements into scalable and efficient software solutions. You will also support production environments, work on backtesting frameworks, and contribute to the continual improvement of trading systems through performance profiling and debugging efforts across distributed architectures.

To succeed in this role, you must have a minimum of 7 years of experience programming in a Linux environment and advanced expertise in C++ with at least 5 years of hands-on development. You should also have 5+ years’ experience developing in kdb (q), along with a robust understanding of version control systems such as Git, software testing methodologies, performance profiling tools, object-oriented design, and functional programming principles. Experience in writing and supporting trading applications, backtest frameworks, and research or trading databases is essential. Strong problem-solving and communication skills are required, as is the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Desirable qualifications include experience with trading platforms such as GTA and Tique, familiarity with scripting languages like Python and R, basic JavaScript knowledge, and the ability to create dashboards and visualise large datasets. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and a solid grasp of trading fundamentals, instruments, and statistical principles will be advantageous.

The successful candidate will be an integral part of a well-established quantitative trading team, contributing directly to the strategy and implementation of auction-based equity trading algorithms across global markets. This is an excellent opportunity for a high-calibre developer to apply their technical rigor and creativity in a rewarding and dynamic environment.
