We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Senior Actuarial Analyst with expertise in IFRS 17 to join our valuation team within the insurance industry. Based in Hong Kong, the successful candidate will play a key role in the delivery and analysis of actuarial valuations under the IFRS 17 reporting framework.
This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic actuarial function, providing actuarial input into financial reporting, business planning, and regulatory requirements. The candidate will be expected to liaise closely with teams across finance, risk, and product departments to ensure high-quality, accurate and timely delivery of valuation results.
Key responsibilities:
- Support quarterly and year-end valuation processes in compliance with IFRS 17 standards
- Analyse insurance liabilities and provide insights on key financial metrics
- Assist in the development and implementation of IFRS 17 models and ensure they align with global standards
- Prepare technical documentation and present actuarial analysis to senior stakeholders
- Contribute to the automation and improvement of actuarial processes and controls
- Collaborate with product teams on the impact of new product developments on reserves and profitability
- Participate in internal and external audit processes as required
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related discipline
- Progress towards actuarial fellowship qualification (e.g. FIA, FSA, etc.)
- Minimum of 3 years’ actuarial experience in life insurance, with strong focus on valuation and reserving
- Sound knowledge of IFRS 17 principles, methodologies, and implementation practices
- Experience with actuarial modelling tools (e.g. Prophet, AXIS) and Excel/VBA
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
