We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented professional to join our Credit Risk team as Assistant Manager. Based in Hong Kong, this role plays a critical part in maintaining the integrity of the firm's credit portfolio and supporting the Fixed Income, Currency and Commodities (FICC) business. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting credit assessments and preparing comprehensive reports in both English and Chinese, evaluating issuer creditworthiness, and assigning appropriate internal credit ratings based on financial and qualitative analysis.
Key responsibilities include reviewing credit limit applications, providing recommendations to senior management, and conducting due diligence on a wide range of financial instruments including bonds, structured notes, swaps and other over-the-counter transactions. The role also involves monitoring credit exposures, producing daily risk reports, identifying and escalating limit breaches, and responding promptly to adverse news that could impact issuer credit profiles.
The ideal candidate will have between five to eight years of experience in credit risk management within a brokerage or financial institution, and hold a Master’s degree in Finance, Business, or a related discipline. A solid understanding of financial products such as bonds, FX, swaps, futures, options, and structured products is essential, as is the ability to analyse exposures across a diverse range of instruments. Proficiency in both English and Chinese is required for credit review documentation.
Technical capabilities are also crucial in this role, particularly in developing and enhancing daily risk reports. Proficiency in Excel, Macro, SQL and Python is highly desirable. The successful candidate should be a team player with a proactive attitude, strong sense of responsibility, and exceptional analytical skills. Strong communication skills across English, Mandarin and Cantonese are required. Familiarity with producing risk presentations for senior management and committees will be advantageous.
