AVP, VP or Director of Finance

Role Overview:

The AVP, VP, or Director of Finance will oversee financial and management reporting for the organisation’s SFC-licensed businesses. The role involves ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, managing financial resources rules, and collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to uphold the integrity of financial processes and reports. This position is essential for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting regulatory inquiries, and enhancing financial systems.

Key Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; professional qualifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CFA) are highly preferred
• Minimum 5 years of solid financial management and reporting experience within HK SFC licensed corporations and securities firms
• Hands-on experience with FRR reporting and client money segregation
• Strong understanding of securities brokerage and margin financing business processes, including front-to-back settlement flow
• Good knowledge of margin financing activities, retail brokerage products (including VA products and OTC derivatives)
• Technical expertise in financial and regulatory reporting, financial system management, and report automation
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet tight deadlines
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for internal collaboration and external engagement
• Proficiency in financial software (e.g., Oracle, Oracle Netsuite) and Microsoft Office, especially Excel for financial analysis and report automation
• Fluency in English and Cantonese; proficiency in Mandarin is an advantage

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle financial and management reporting for the company's SFC-licensed businesses, including securities and futures brokerage, securities margin financing, and asset management
• Responsible for daily calculation and monthly reporting of the Financial Resources Rules (FRR)
• Ensure financial records comply with all relevant regulations, including SFC rules, Hong Kong Companies Ordinance, tax laws, and HKFRS
• Collaborate with compliance, operations, risk, and treasury departments to align financial processes with business and regulatory objectives
• Manage tax-related matters and liaise with external auditors and tax advisors
• Handle regulatory inquiries from agencies such as SFC and HKMA
• Perform trust bank reconciliation and manage client money matters
• Support cash management functions and treasury activities
• Manage and enhance financial reporting systems, producing high-quality reports to support management decisions
• Review and improve internal financial controls, identify risks, and implement corrective actions to safeguard assets and ensure data integrity
• Perform ad-hoc tasks as assigned by supervisors

Requirements:

• Right to work in the location specified
• Relevant experience in HK securities firms and SFC-licensed corporations
• Strong technical knowledge of financial and regulatory reporting standards
• Proficiency with financial software and advanced Excel skills
• Fluency in English and Cantonese; proficiency in Mandarin is an advantage
