We are seeking a visionary Design Director to lead cross-functional teams in delivering innovative, meaningful, and user-centred design solutions across product, digital, packaging, and communication domains. Based in Shenzhen, Guangdong, China,  this role requires a forward-thinking leader who can drive design strategy from concept through to realisation and implementation.

Key responsibilities include orchestrating solution creation alongside multidisciplinary teams, focusing on entire user experiences and ecosystems. You will lead the development of user-centred strategies and experiences, including user testing and validation, while ensuring alignment with brand guidelines and design language systems. Operational excellence within project timelines and budgets is essential, as is collaborating effectively with both internal and external stakeholders to communicate design concepts with clarity and impact.

We are looking for someone who can challenge the status quo, drive innovation, and elevate the value delivered to users. Strong leadership and design direction skills are crucial to succeed in this role.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in product or product-interaction design.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience across multiple business domains, markets, and cultures.
  • Proven experience as a 'T-shaped' design leader with expertise in end-to-end experience design.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual abilities to generate meaningful, user-centric innovations.
  • Demonstrated success in leading multidisciplinary teams from concept to realisation.
  • Familiarity with design for lean/agile development methodologies and coaching teams.
  • Deep understanding of product and solution design processes, from idea to technical delivery.
  • Experience designing small or stand-alone electronic devices and integrated product-service offerings.
  • Ability to create and apply visual languages aligned to brand values and cultural context.
  • Awareness of current trends through ongoing research in art, design, fashion, and digital products.
  • Professional, ambitious, and highly collaborative mindset.
  • Exceptional communication skills in visual, verbal, and written storytelling formats.
  • Fluency in English is required; Mandarin Chinese is a strong advantage.
