Our client is seeking a dynamic and strategic Head of Business Development to lead and scale their new business unit in Hong Kong. This high-impact leadership role requires a forward-thinking individual with a strong commercial acumen, who is passionate about driving growth through sales excellence, strategic marketing, and operational effectiveness. As Head of Business Development, you will have direct ownership of the business unit’s P&L and play a pivotal role in establishing meaningful partnerships that contribute to long-term success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the overall growth strategy, business development efforts, and partnership building with key stakeholders in the market.
  • Own the performance, execution, and quality of sales, marketing, and operations teams to drive strong business outcomes.
  • Collaborate with regional and local teams to enable omnichannel growth strategies.
  • Recruit, lead, mentor and inspire high-performing teams, creating an environment of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Be fully accountable for the unit’s performance, including budget, forecasting, and profitability.
  • Develop strategic plans that anticipate market trends, capitalise on growth opportunities, and mitigate competitive threats.
  • Contribute to a high-performance and inclusive company culture that values impact and innovation.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in sales leadership with a proven track record of consistently exceeding team targets and performance metrics.
  • Strong background in online-to-offline sales strategies; experience in the food and retail technology space is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated experience leading lean and agile commercial teams with a focus on fast-paced execution and measurable outputs.
  • Skilled in developing innovative marketing campaigns tailored to local markets, delivering measurable ROI.
  • Established network of merchant partners in the food and retail sectors, with excellent relationship-building skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with demonstrated grit, resilience, and a results-driven approach to leadership.
  • Experience using Generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Cursor) to streamline processes, drive efficiency, and increase productivity at scale.
