Head of Connectivity
The Head of Connectivity leads the development and oversight of the firm's global exchange-facing trading connectivity infrastructure. This role is responsible for building scalable, low-latency systems to support the firm's quantitative trading operations, ensuring reliability and performance across markets.

Role Overview
The Head of Connectivity manages a team dedicated to designing and maintaining the firm's exchange connectivity frameworks, including raw market data ingestion, order entry gateways, and historical data pipelines. Success in this role involves driving continuous enhancement of system latency, reliability, and data quality, while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions. The position reports to senior leadership and involves strategic planning, team leadership, and technical architecture oversight.
Key Skills & Experience
- Build and lead normalized Feed Handler and Order Entry Gateway frameworks across multiple markets.
- Manage end-to-end productionization of Feed Handler / Gateway systems.
- Proficiency in C++, including low-latency system development, memory management, concurrency, and network I/O.
- Deep understanding of low-latency path design and diagnostic systems for trading connectivity.
- 8+ years of experience in quantitative trading fund, exchange, or market maker environments.
- At least 3 years of people management or technical leadership experience.
- Experience designing low-latency, high-performance trading infrastructure.
Nice to Have
- Experience with specific markets such as US equities, APAC equities, or futures markets.
- Knowledge of raw exchange market data, including data parsing, backfilling, and quality validation.
- Familiarity with Python and data analysis tools for market data validation and diagnostics.
- Working with major exchanges, vendors, and connectivity providers.
- Experience building tools for packet-level analysis, latency diagnostics, and system failure reproduction.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the architecture and technical strategy for the firm's global exchange connectivity infrastructure.
- Build a cross-market framework for onboarding new markets with unified architecture and standards.
- Improve latency, reliability, and data quality across live and historical trading data.
- Collaborate with trading, research, risk, infrastructure, and external vendors, translating requirements into technical solutions.
- Lead hiring, coaching, and organisational design to grow the team’s expertise in low-latency trading systems.
Requirements
- On-site work environment with localisation in Hong Kong.
- Permanent employment with our client, based in Asia.
- Minimum 10 years' experience in global data or market data system roles, focusing on quantitative finance.
- Proven experience building and leading market data and trading infrastructure teams.
- Strong proficiency in C++ and network programming, with only candidates experienced in quantitative and financial data industries considered.
- Good English skills.
- Availability to start on 16/06/2026 with a duration of 2 weeks for the initial engagement.
