We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Investment Quantitative Analyst to join our client's team in Hong Kong. The ideal candidate will play a key role in developing advanced quantitative models to support investment strategies, portfolio construction, and risk management. This role requires a strong foundation in quantitative analysis, financial theory, and programming.
As an Investment Quantitative Analyst, you will be responsible for analysing large datasets, building statistical and machine learning models to identify investment opportunities, and helping to optimise portfolios. You will collaborate closely with portfolio managers, data scientists, and developers to bring quantitative insight to the investment process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop quantitative models for asset valuation, risk assessment, and portfolio optimisation.
- Conduct empirical research to back-test strategies using historical market data.
- Analyse financial market behaviour using statistical, econometric, and machine learning techniques.
- Integrate newly developed models into the firm's investment infrastructure in collaboration with technology teams.
- Monitor and improve the performance of existing strategies and models.
- Create comprehensive documentation of models and research processes for internal review.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, or Finance. A PhD is advantageous.
- Solid understanding of financial markets, instruments, and investment strategies.
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, R, or MATLAB. Familiarity with databases and data extraction tools is a plus.
- Experience with statistical and machine learning modelling techniques such as regression, classification, clustering, and time series analysis.
- Proven ability to work with large and complex datasets.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication skills and ability to convey complex findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
