We are seeking a dynamic and analytical Investment Quantitative Analyst to join our insurance team in Hong Kong. This role is critical in supporting the investment decision-making process by developing quantitative models, conducting financial analysis, and evaluating risk and performance across a range of portfolios. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of investments, capital markets, and the insurance industry’s regulatory landscape.

The successful candidate will be responsible for formulating and implementing quantitative strategies, programming complex financial models, and conducting scenario analysis and stress testing. You will work closely with investment managers and actuaries to enhance asset-liability management processes, optimise portfolio performance, and ensure compliance with relevant solvency requirements.

Key responsibilities include designing quantitative tools for portfolio analysis, developing risk management models, analysing historical and real-time data, and producing high-quality reports and presentations for senior stakeholders. You will also contribute to the development and enhancement of strategic asset allocation frameworks and investment performance attribution tools.

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree or higher in Quantitative Finance, Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 6 years' experience in a quantitative investment or risk analytics role, preferably in the insurance or asset management industry
  • Strong command of statistical and mathematical modelling techniques
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, MATLAB or VBA; experience with SQL and Bloomberg API is desirable
  • Deep understanding of fixed income, equities, derivatives, and structured products
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as HK RBC, Solvency II, or IFRS 17 is preferred
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
