This is a senior-level, hands-on software engineering role within an elite automated trading group. You will design, build, and optimize high-speed, live trading systems. The role requires deep expertise in backend Java, multi-threaded programming, and electronic trading infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- System Engineering: Architect and upgrade low-latency algorithmic trading engines and execution platforms.
- Feature Development: Design and launch high-performance features on core, mission-critical systems.
- Business Collaboration: Partner with traders, quantitative researchers, and product teams to improve execution tools.
- Global Market Logic: Adapt software to handle different global market rules, liquidity constraints, and trading structures.
- Advanced Support: Provide tier-3 technical troubleshooting and deep data analysis for core trading infrastructure.
- R&D: Research and integrate cutting-edge libraries, tools, and technical frameworks to keep the platform ahead.
- Advanced server-side Java skills (including Spring ecosystem).
- Deep understanding of multi-threading, concurrency, low-garbage-collection (GC) tuning, and design patterns.
- Experience processing live market data, financial order flows, and portfolio positions.
- Familiarity with smart order routing (SOR), algorithmic trading strategies (e.g., VWAP), and market microstructure.
- Strong commitment to Test-Driven Development (TDD), test automation, and DevOps practices.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience developing algorithmic trading or order management systems (OMS).
- Solid understanding of exchange mechanics, auction types, and regulatory frameworks.
- Outstanding problem-solving skills and the ability to make rapid, informed decisions under pressure.
- Experience with inventory management or clearing optimization models.
- Bonus Skills: Cloud platforms, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), Kdb+/Q time-series databases, front-end development, or AI-assisted coding tools.
