The Senior Developer (Technical Lead) - EQD Trading role supports the global equity trading IT team within the organisation. This position involves leading a regional delivery team, overseeing technical development, and contributing to digital transformation initiatives in the equity trading space. The role requires managing stakeholders, delivering key projects, and driving technological innovation.
Key Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a tech lead or similar role in a global capital markets environment, with deep understanding of equity products
- Advanced proficiency in C#, C++ and/or Java for webservice APIs and software development
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Skilled in delivery and RTB infrastructure tools (e.g., CICD, Monitoring, Alerting)
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and manage a diverse, distributed team
- Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in Cantonese, Mandarin, and/or French is a plus but NOT mandatory
- Strong project management skills with experience in agile methodologies and DevOps processes
- Track record of implementing innovative solutions, including AI and machine learning
Nice to Have
- Experience with Public Cloud, ML, Blockchain, Github Copilot, Docker, Kubernetes
Role Overview
The Senior Developer (Technical Lead) will provide hands-on technical leadership and team management in the Asia-Pacific region. The role involves coordinating regional development efforts, ensuring seamless project delivery, and aligning with global equity business transformation projects. Success depends on technical excellence, stakeholder engagement, and driving adoption of cutting-edge technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate a team of 5 to 10 developers in Hong Kong, demonstrating technical excellence
- Manage development, delivery, and production support of global equity projects for the Asia region
- Adapt and implement globally available technology solutions to meet APAC-specific needs
- Champion the adoption of latest technologies such as Cloud, ML, Blockchain, and AI tools
- Collaborate with central teams in Europe to align regional efforts with global initiatives
- Ensure integration of new systems while maintaining business-as-usual operations
Requirements
