Java Team lead Azure & Data Lake

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tech Lead specialising in Java development with expertise in Microsoft Azure and Data Lake solutions. Based in Hong Kong, you will play a pivotal role in leading a global development team in designing, implementing, and deploying cutting-edge software solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a team of developers, ensuring high-quality Java code and adherence to industry best practices.
• Drive code reviews, define architectural frameworks, and resolve complex technical obstacles.
• Design and deploy scalable applications on Azure, leveraging services such as Azure Data Lake, Data Factory, and Blob Storage.
• Develop and manage data strategies for ingestion, processing, and quality assurance within Azure Data Lake ecosystems.
• Develop Java-based applications using Spring, Hibernate, and other enterprise frameworks.
• Integrate systems across cloud and on-premise environments using RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
• Collaborate with business analysts and product stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Oversee project delivery timelines and manage communication with senior stakeholders and management.
• Evaluate and implement new technologies to improve performance, scalability, and developer efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with cloud security standards, data governance policies, and agile methodologies.
• Manage cloud operations, including monitoring, optimisations, and cost efficiency.
• Implement logging, alerting, and performance measurement across systems to ensure ongoing operational excellence.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in software development, with in-depth expertise in Java programming and enterprise architecture.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, and Blob Storage.
• Strong knowledge of big data principles, data security, governance, and cloud scalability best practices.
• Demonstrated ability in leading technical teams and delivering projects using agile or hybrid approaches.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with diverse stakeholders.
• Proficiency in DevOps practices including CI/CD, automated testing, and systems integration.
• Analytical mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.
